Paramount+ production company has started preparations to make the legendary movie Grease, starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton John, into a series. The series, which took place four years before the story in the movie, is expected to be published under the name Rise of the Pink Ladies.
Nicole Clemens, Head of Paramount Television Studios and Paramount+ Original Screenplay Series, said, “We’re making an exciting musical series that you’ll love to watch. “We’re excited to introduce our new original series featuring an amazing cast.”
Filming began in Vancouver. None of the star actors from the 1978 hit movie will participate in the project.
Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies will air on Paramount+ in 2022.
